Web directories however, classify websites by categories and sub-categories along with details, titles and descriptions and keywords and in most cases undergo an editorial review and approval process. They are therefore, valued by the search engines.
Do directory submissions help increase traffic to my website?
Yes. Let me explain. When the search engines find your directory links they will tend to classify your website based on the keywords or keyword phrases used in the link or anchor text pointing to your website that you submitted in the Business Directory Listing Information Form. Since you used target specific keywords the chances will increase for your website to appear high for searches that target those keywords or keyword phrases. Note: Directory links do not appear instantly (a few days to over 90 days) and even after they appear Google and the other search engines must "find" them in order for the links to appear in the search engine's results. Please also note that Google does not show each and every link pointing to your website. For a more accurate link count, you could use the Yahoo site explorer.
How would I know which category my site would be submitted under?
When you fill in the Business Directory Listing Information Form, you are required to enter category preferences and your keywords for your business. Once as order is placed, the editor will review your information and the details you have entered. In most cases you will be submitted under the category your chose. However, for some directories those preferences will not be available, and your listing will be put under the most appropriate category available by our editor.
What happens after I place an order?
After you have purchase a package you must enter the details of your business into our online Business Directory Listing Information Form. The details will be reviewed by one of our editors, who checks to see whether appropriate categories, titles and desciptions have been selected. Mistakes in grammar and spelling, if any, are also corrected. Then category instructions are written for the submiters to follow while submitting the site to directories.
You will receive an email from us when the order is placed and an email when the initial submitting is completed. Within a time period of 3 months (90 days) you should see an average of 40-45% of the links appear as permanent listings in the directories.
Do you guarantee 100% link approvals in the directories submitted to?
Since we do not own, edit or control any of the directories, we cannot quarantee link approvals. We do however, submit your business information in the best format possible to get approved.
What is your directory criteria?
Our directories target a global English speaking audience which generally provide permanent links as much as possible. They do not send out spam mailers, they are not country-specific or product specific and are SEO friendly general directories applicable to a variety of websites.
Are all directories relevant to my site?
As much as I would like to say yes, the answer is no. We submit to general web directories applicable to all kinds of websites that cover a broad range of categories and sub-categories. That is one reason why an editor may deem your listing as not applicable to his directory.
Are all directories similar, is it worth submitting to all?
Every directory has a different editor, with different parameters, and different categories, which makes each unique and are valued independently by the net. Therefore, it is definitely worth submitting to as many directories as possible since each link coming from the directories counts as a seperate and unique one way link.
Do you submit to all directories of a certain page rank?
It is not advisable to submit to only directories of certain page rank as you may miss out on up and coming directories.
Is it worth submitting to all directories? How many directories should I submit to?

If I submit to 500 directories, does that mean I'll get 500 links?

Do I get refunded for listings that are rejected?
You do not get refunded for listings that are rejected since link approvals are not in our control. Payments are made towards directory submissions and not for directory approvals. When we submit, we do everything to ensure that your website is submitted correctly and accurately into the most appropriate category. In spite of this, if your site does get rejected, it is probably because it did not adhere to any one or more of directory's guidelines.

What if I do not renew?
If you do not renew after the notices we send, your record will be removed from, our “active” file that we provide to the directories. Different directories and websites treat deactivated listings in different ways according to their policies. Some may keep the listings active and some may delete the record, and this is beyond our control. SouthSeas will not actively ask the publishers to remove the listing.
Why is there a renewal fee?
Some directories and data providers require re-listing the data annually, so we must resubmit your information. Some directories remove listings if they are not actively updated – it also helps keep data fresh and information about your business accurate.
How often can I make changes?
It is extremely difficult if not impossible to make changes once a listing has been submitted because most directories do not have an "Edit Listing" feature. Even those directories that allow changes will not update the information very often. So try to get this right the first time.
Who will see this data and how can I be assured of my privacy?
ONLY provide your business information that you want the public to have in order to contact you. Never give out your personal information such as your home telephone number or address. Be aware that any information you input into your business listing is available for all of the world to see. All payment information will be never be made public.
Will old listings be removed or updated?
We will provide every piece of information to ensure that the directories can update or remove your listing if at all possible. A date stamp is included so that the directories will know that the information came directly from the business and is most likely fresher than their standard data sources.
Will the directories use all of the data I send?
Unfortunally No. Google will use almost all of the data fields, but most directories will use only the data fields that they typically publish. Some directories only publish the phone number and address, but increasingly many directories are publishing many of the data fields you provide.
How soon will my information start appearing?
Many directories will change the information within days or weeks, but others do not refresh their data for a month or two. While we cannot control when they refresh their date, we make your data available to them within three days of you sending it to us. (Silver & Gold Packages) Allow 5 days for the Platinum package.

We make your business data freely available to all legitimate Search Engines and Directories in our industry in order for the business listings to be universally distributed.

Many of these websites allow me to load my business information for free, so why do I have to pay?
There are literally hundreds of important directory sites that you would have to go and input your information and the process of doing that will take many hours. Our cost is low enough to be cost effective for every small business. We also manually load the information if a directory does not take it electronically.
